With You and Your Family, for as Long as You Need

We’re here to support you.

We know that the journey through loss doesn’t end once the funeral service is over; in many ways, the real process of healing begins in the quiet moments that follow.

Grief is deeply personal and doesn’t follow a set schedule —it often resurfaces in the days, weeks, and months after the final farewell. This is why our family business is committed and passionate about our post-funeral support. Whether you are looking for trusted bereavement care, help with meaningful keepsakes, or practical assistance on estate resources, we are here to offer genuine compassion, guidance and a listening ear.

At AG Butler & Son, we remain alongside the families we serve.

Grief in is not a single, uniform experience. In some families, loss is mourned collectively, in others, grief is carried more privately. Some families draw strength from faith. Others from family. Others would look for more professional support.

We respect all of it. Whatever support looks like for your family, we will help you find it.

Tell Us Once Service

When someone passes away, there are many official organisations that need to be notified. The Tell Us Once service, provided by the UK Government, helps you do this in one go.

With your permission, they can notify:

  • HMRC (Tax Office)
  • Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
  • Passport Office
  • DVLA
  • Local council services

Tell Us Once Service

To save you from contacting multiple government departments individually, the Registrar will offer you the Tell Us Once service.

They will either:

  • Complete the Tell Us Once service with you or give you a unique reference number so you can use the service yourself, online or by phone.
  • This will notify multiple departments (such as the DWP or DVLA) simultaneously.
  • You must use the service within 28 days of getting your unique reference number.

Words from the
Families We’ve Helped

Roy and his team were recommended by my family, from the moment we met Roy he was helpful, professional & respectful
I was delighted with the way they dealt with me, and most importantly my late mum, I can not thank Roy and his team enough , I would definitely recommend them , they made such a sad time a lot easier for our family and there attention to detail and the respect they showed to us and mum was excellent.
Butlers, Roy, Lisa and team looked after everything for us
Help guide us through all the arrangements with recommendations that made the whole funeral exactly how our beloved one would have wanted. Everyone was at the end of the phone making the whole process stress free.
My family and I were really impressed with Roy, Sam and the rest of the pallbearers with the funeral preparations for my dad
Roy has this remarkable skill when interacting with the mourners, almost as if he takes the pain away when he speaks to you with his soothing and personable voice. He was very respectful and the coffin with the Hindu symbol was just beautiful. My family and I are very grateful to him. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts.
We would like to thank Roy, Lisa and the team at A G Butler
For all the help and support we were given with the arrangements for our mother's funeral. Everything was done with kindness, professionalism and efficiency. We could not have received a better service.
Could not be more praising of their amazing service
To my whole family when organising our grandmother's funeral.. Roy and his team were so caring, thoughtful and respectful from day one; they made a huge difference to the process and on the day. Thank you so much to all of you who made the day so much easier for us. We are so very grateful.
I would like to thank Roy and his team for the tremendous job
They did for my Sister's funeral. The respect they gave my Sister and the professionalism was amazing. I can't fault the service and would highly recommend A G Butler & Son. The way in which everyone conducted themselves exceeded our expectations. Thank you Roy and team.
Great service at a difficult time.
